New Holland Artisan Spirits Earns Eight Medals at 2017 American Distilling Institute Awards
Written by Paul StarrAmerican Distilling Institute (ADI) hosted their American craft spirits awards ceremony on April 4 to celebrate outstanding artisan spirits from across the country. Prior to the event in Baltimore, MD, craft distillers submitted over 680 spirits in the categories of artisan American gins, rums, fruit infusions, brandies, moonshines andwhiskies to an expert panel, who in return performed blind tastings and awarded bronze, silver and gold medals in each category.

Cellar Brewing launches Bier Distillery line of Craft Spirits
Written by Dan VanderKooiBier Distillery has been quietly producing quality craft spirits from Cellar Brewing’s location out of Sparta, Michigan since late 2013 but has only recently received necessary labeling and distribution approval to make their full line of spirits available outside the brewery. In fact, the distilling license actually predates current owner Chuck Brown’s ownership and the brewery still offers flavored vodkas which has long allowed for mixed drink options for customers in addition to craft beer. For upgrading the distilling component, the new owner has brought in new equipment as well as brought in distiller Joel Bierling to oversee operations.
