Over 100 Craft Beer Varieties at Boyne Highlands’ Brew-Ski Festival

Boyne Highlands’ third annual Brew-Ski Festival takes place Saturday, March 10 and features more than 100 varieties of craft beer, including nearly 50 from Michigan breweries.  This festival is staged at the base of the slopes where beer lovers can gather and enjoy suds, grilled brats and spring skiing and riding.
Pale ales, stouts, porters, lagers and wheat beers are served up on massive snow bars to aficionados for tasting.  The festival tent is open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. for those ages 21 years and up.  Admission is free and sampling tickets, good for a 4-ounce pour, can be purchased for $2 each.   Many of Michigan’s favorite brewers will be in attendance including Short's, Bell’s, New Holland, North Peak and Arcadia Ales.  In addition, festival goers can sample other craft beers from around the country.  For a complete list of participating breweries, visit www.BOYNE.com.

March offers warmer temperatures and plentiful, bluebird sky days to work on a goggle tan.  The slopes are open for skiing and snowboarding from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and event goers can come and go from the tasting area at their leisure.  After the outdoor fun conludes, head inside to the resort’s legendary Zoo Bar where the Aaron Vaughn Band will perform until 8 p.m.  The Remedee band will rock the night away in the Slopeside Lounge from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Boyne Highlands is offering a special Brew-Ski Festival package including two nights’ lodging, a Friday night hors d’oeuvres reception, breakfast daily, lift tickets on Saturday and Sunday, a t-shirt, pint glass and five drink tickets, all starting at $238 per person.  For reservations, please call 800.GO.BOYNE (462-6963) or visit www.BOYNE.com.
