The goal of the Michigan Beer Company (MBC) is simple: to give local beer lovers, who’ve made Michigan one of the hottest craft beer states in the country, a place to call home. “If a Michigan brewery has a distributor they'll be represented on our beer list, which will be ever-changing and growing,” says owner Dan Linnen. Diners passionate not only about beer but about great food to pair it with will not be disappointed. Chef Jeff Krulikowski, former sous chef of Toasted Oak Grill & Market in Novi, has designed a unique menu with a strong nod to Michigan and its locally-sourced products. These products, which will include many more when Michigan produce is in season, include shrimp from Farm Fresh Seafood in Okemos, Michigan (created by Russ Allen in 1994 as a way of providing a more sustainable and ecologically friendly way of producing shrimp), venison from various venison farms in the thumb area of Michigan, and rabbit from Hoppin Good Farms, which sources rabbits from small family farms in southern Michigan and the thumb area.
Chef Krulikowski, a graduate of the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Michigan in Novi, worked under Toasted Oak Executive Chef Brian Kanak for five years and learned much of what he brings to MBC from studying Brian’s style of bringing fresh, clean flavors to the table that capture the essence of Michigan’s farms. Krulikowski showcases Michigan ingredients inside his dishes as much as possible, and brings a broad range of seasonal ingredients and styles to his cooking. Menu items range from a "Bad Axe Venison Burger" to "New Holland Cabin Fever Braised Pork Belly;” from "Michigan Trout w/Butternut Squash Hash” to a BBQ Chicken Flatbread with Pinconning Cheddar Sauce.

The Michigan Beer Company’s extensive variety of Michigan beers are also available for take away. The MBC “Growler Station” offers growlers-to-go filled with the Michigan on-tap beer of your choice, and the growlers last up to six months through a unique sealing process. Along with a selection of gift baskets and MBC wearables, the growlers make a unique holiday gift idea!

The Michigan Beer Company Indoor restaurant offers a full menu and is open daily for dinner (a Sunday brunch will begin in January). An adjacent indoor/outdoor all-season Beer Garden with glass windows, Michigan murals of the Mackinac Bridge and other Michigan tourist destinations is open on weekends, and offers a full beer menu and select casual food options. Look for live music on the weekends, and events like “Beer 101” on Tuesdays in the new year, where Michigan brewmasters will host an evening featuring new products to be sampled along with food pairings.
