“It’s always been our goal to produce a beer with a brewery that represents this great craft beer state,” said MittenBrew co-founder Bryan Esler.
The beer will be released at a June 15 release party held at Logan’s Alley in Grand Rapids from 2-5 p.m. The party will be open to the public at no charge. In addition to Logan’s Alley, the brew will also be available at several bars throughout the state, including 7 Monks (Traverse City), Crunchy's (East Lansing), The Mitten Bar (Ludington), Derby Station (East Grand Rapids) and Graydon's Crossing (Grand Rapids).
The company plans to release a different branded beer every year, brewed by a different Michigan brewery. The beer will only be on tap at select Michigan bars.
In addition to Nutter Berry Wheat, MittenBrew is also undergoing finishing touches on a revamped version of its website, also set to launchJune 15. While regular features will continue to be highlighted on the site, more emphasis will be placed on the site’s Brewery of the Month feature, as well as its photography and videos.
The website will also be mobile-friendly, meaning iPhone and Android users can easily navigate the latest beer news and reviews.
The company is also in the midst of planning several events for this summer, including beer and food pairings, benefit events, beer tastings and more.
MittenBrew considers brewing beer an art form. It is a craft after all. When we think of beer, we think of sophistication. Like any craft, there is an artist, and we have the greatest respect for those in the brewing industry — we’re here to tell their stories. So grab your mug, growler, pint glass…and let’s talk about Michigan beer.
