Bagger Dave's Grandville Location

Bagger Dave’s legendary burger taverns have been around for over 5 years. With locations now in 10 Michigan cities, I recently stopped in one of the newest locations in Grandville to see what the fuss was all about. Michigan beers are served exclusively here, and the menu is very pro-Michigan as well. Add great service to go along with the great food and beers, and I can see why these restaurants are so popular. Also for the first time, franchise restaurants have now expanded Bagger Dave’s outside of Michigan borders with an Indianapolis location and also a location in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Our first time visiting, the GPS brought us first to Famous Dave’s and we thought maybe we had experienced a snafu. However, as it turns out Famous Dave’s and Bagger Dave’s are in fact virtually neighbors so no need to throw the GPS unit out the window. With 8 different Michigan brews from 7 different breweries, we had in fact reached our beer destination. I tried the Short’s Local Light, which is not something I’ve seen commonly available in the Grand Rapids area (although I am thinking at least Pyramid Scheme probably also has it.) I’d sampled this up north before and I was extremely impressed with the clean fresh flavor. Beer sampler flights are also available if you can’t make up your mind between Founders, Bell’s, Dark Horse, or Frankenmuth to name a few.

Bagger Dave’s offers more than just burgers. I was adventurous and went with the delicious Peanut Butter, Banana, and Honey on Sourdough with a cup of the turkey chili (with jalapenos and onions.) The sandwich features 100% Michigan wildflower honey and Grand Rapids own Cream Nut all natural Peanut Butter using for ingredients exclusively peanuts with only a dash of salt added. As far as the burgers go, you have a choice of 8 different varieties but if you are innovative you can also design your own custom burgers and fries via the handy sheets available at each table. Choice of sauces include the Santa Fe Chipotle sauce which proved to be a hit with my friends and I.

I was visiting with a larger group so we called ahead, and I was very impressed with our immediate seating and service, especially given our visit was on the eve of a holiday. You can even place your food order online and have it ready for you when you arrive. We were able to have our brews and eat our meals without worry about making our next beer destination. If in the area, I highly recommend a visit.
