Oktoberfest Dinner & Brew Cruise on MI Princess

The corner of 5th and Main streets in Royal Oak has long been home to some of the state’s most awarded beers at Bastone Brewery, 2014 winner of Small Brewpub and Small Brewpub Brewer of the Year award for 2014 for Rockne Van Meter by the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. With the addition of Monk Beer Abbey and a menu of Belgian imported and inspired craft beer, beer fans won’t want to miss a chance to visit.

Monk Beer Abbey may be known for its award-winning waffle sandwiches, elk burgers and duck fat fries but this month, a special menu puts its mussels dishes at the center of attention. For a limited time, four flavor infusions are available and feature Prince Edward Island Mussels.

When you get invited to go try the new menu at Monk Beer Abbey, you don't turn it down! I had the pleasure of going with a long time friend of mine and fellow food connoisseur Abby, and her husband Joe.

Monk Beer Abbey gives metro Detroiters one more reason to celebrate the coming of spring with a fresh new menu. Executive Chef Robert Young assured fans of the establishment the new menu will still highlight award-winning waffle sandwiches, burgers, mussels, frites and duck fat fries, always favorites among the offerings.
