Short’s Brewing Company Celebrates Epic 10-year Anniversary Party On The Streets Of Bellaire.

For the 10-year anniversary celebration, Short’s Brewing Company shut down the streets of Bellaire with a celebration inside and outside of the pub included an outdoor music tent and 99 different taps. Food trucks were on hand for the 4,000+ capacity crowd which include the annual State of the Brewery Address from owner Joe Short as well as a 10-Year commemorative video. Admission was free to the family-friendly event which included a 2-set headlining performance from Dean Ween of the band Ween whose song names served as inspiration for the items on the Short’s pub’s regular food menu.
Fans flocked to the pub early to get in on the noon ticketed bottle release of Short’s special Anniversary Ales and Stache Bender IPA (double Hopstache,) which also include pre-sale food and drink tokens for the 3 PM gate opening for the celebration. Don Julin & Billy Strings were the first of 4 special guest act openers to perform through the afternoon and evening leading up to the headline performance from Dean Ween and the Brown Outs. Food trucks from Antrim Catering and Trailer Park’d supplemented Short’s own pub special menu which included turkey leg, duck nachos, and vegetarian burritos and kabobs.

Short’s 99 tapped beer selections included in addition to mainstays and seasonal releases, multiple barrel-aged release, 7 variations of “Anny” beers, and a revisitation of the entire Imperial Beer Series dating back to Fall of 2006 which includes such favorites as Soft Parade high gravity berry beer, The Woodmaster fermented with maple and roasted pecans, and Spruce India Pilsner. Also featured were a handful of Firkins including Bourbon Controversius Maximus, Bourbon Aphasia, and Stache Bender. Be sure to keep an eye out for for Short’s in 2014 is a $1.2 million expansion of the pub scheduled to be completed this Summer!
