Every year Sawyer’s Greenbush Brewing Co. has something new to offer. Last year, I stopped in to join the mug club as a lifetime member which is still one of the best deals you’ll find. The kitchen continues to serve some of the best BBQ in the area and the pub draws a good crowd just about any night. I stopped by earlier this year to enjoy lunch and tried a few new taps including the Indispensable IPA and Helmut of Remnar Belgian Strong Ale. I also discovered that Greenbush has expanded into the building across the street and had to stop by after lunch to check out the new Greenbush Annex.
One primary function of the Greenbush Annex is to serve as a merchandise store for the brewery as well as offer bottle sales for many Greenbush mainstays and specialties. However, the location across the street also offers much more. 14 Greenbush beers are on tap, an equal number to what is offered across the street. So the Annex serves as overflow for those who just want to stop in for a beer, including some selections not available at the pub. For instance, when I stopped in, the Annex was offering a barrel-aged Doomslayer and 10% ABV “Middle Finger of Buddha” on tap. While they do not offer a full kitchen and BBQ that the pub is known for, snacks include “charcuterie, cheese, and pickled things” so you certainly don’t have to go hungry while enjoying a beer.

Greenbush Brewing Co. will be celebrating their 4-year anniversary on Wednesday, June 10th with several specialty and rare beers to be tapped especially for the event. The celebration will take place both at the main pub and across the street at the Annex all day long. Also to be released for the occasion will be the 8.5% ABV anniversary beer Village Idiot IPA on both draft and in bottles clocking in at 100 IBUs with Centennial, Mosaic, and Citra hops. Stay tune to the Greenbush Facebook page ( or website ( for more details!
