Recap of New Holland Brewing's Hatter Day 15-Year Anniversary Weekend Extravaganza

New Holland Brewing’s Hatter Day 15-year anniversary celebration include a weekend full of events in addition to the numerous tap takeovers all around preceding and following the big weekend. At the heart of the celebration are the 7 variations of the popular Mad Hatter IPA including the brand new Belgian-style White Hatter. Also featured were two distilled beverages; the Salty Chihuahua (Hatter Royale and grapefruit juice,) and the Hoparita, the Hatter Royale version of the Margarita.
The weekend was launched Friday with the All Big Hole Golf Outing at the Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck starting with Bloody Mary’s at registration, New Holland brews during the game, and ending with a buffet dinner. Saturday brought the party to the streets of downtown Holland adjacent to the pub for the 1st ever Hatter Day street party.

I’m a Beer Hound’s Paul Starr was also on hand with a booth featuring t-shirts for sale and giving out plenty of free Beer Hound stickers. Multiple bands performed throughout the day including DeLilah and The Lost Boys, Steppin’ In It, and The Dynamites.

I do recommend giving the Hatter Royale Hopquilla a try; this dry-hopped white whiskey is quite phenomenal. All 7 Hatter Day beers were available inside the pub, with various taps being poured outdoors throughout the day. Additional events held during the day included the sold-out Beer, Spirits, and Cheese Smackdown and Mad Hatter Cake cutting ceremony, a cake of which truly had to be seen to be believed.

New Holland celebrated Father’s Day with “The Father of Beer Dinners,” an RSVP-only event held Three Acres in Chicago featuring numerous food pairings with the many Hatter beers. Be on the lookout for New Holland’s tap takeover in a town near you!
