Recap of Coq to the Fly Group Bike Ride from Brewery Vivant to Rockford Brewing Co.
Every spring bicyclists gather at Rockford Brewing Co. and embark on the almost 15 mile group ride to Brewery Vivant, and each fall gather at Brewery Vivant for the approximate one hour return trip. The first go-round has become known as “Fly to the Coq” with each year’s return trip known as “Coq to the Fly”. The breweries have also made a tradition of collaborating on a special beer for each event with a version of the brew tapped before and after the ride at each respective location. For this year’s Coq to the Fly, the collaborative beer was a Dark Ale called “On Your Left” brewed with naked oats and dark malts.

Recap of 2013 & 2014 Anniversary Ale Bottle Release at Rockford Brewing Company
April 7th is National Beer Day in honor of the day back in 1933 that the brewing and sale of beer first became legal again in the United States following the prohibition which began in 1920. April 7th also turned out to be a very fitting day for Rockford Brewing Company to make their first ever bottled releases after 2 years of draft only releases. Rockford Brewing also chose a very fitting beer for their bottled releases, both the 2013 & 2014 editions of their popular Anniversary Ale AKA the Belgian Multigrain which has only been brewed three times so far by the brewery and being one of original recipes released as part of Rockford’s 2012 pre-opening downtown pub crawl.
