Zoobie's Old Town Tavern will open on June 17th with everyone ones first beer only 1¢!

One of the oldest bars in Lansing, which has been closed for several years, is set to reopen this summer. Zoobie's Old Town Tavern, owned by the same family since 1932, was the first bar in Michigan to receive a liquor license after the 21st amendment passed repealing prohibition. Over the years it maintained the feel of an old neighborhood bar serving cold beer and humble bar food. I remember visiting Zoobie's once in college and I thought that although it was old and a bit rundown, that at one time it was probably a very nice place.

Midtown Beer Company to Release Two of Their Own Beers

Now fully through the transition period of re-branding and redesigning their menu and mission, the Midtown Beer Company  in downtown Lansing has just acquired new BREWING equipment and will be serving their new craft beers on draft. They will be releasing the first two offerings Golgotha (Belgian Black IPA) and London Calling (English Bitter Ale) tonight, Tuesday, May 7th at 5:00 PM.

Ann Arbor Welcomes Mash at Blue Tractor, a bourbon and beer bar

Located on E. Washington in downtown Ann Arbor, Blue Tractor BBQ & Brewery recently expanded hiring 20 employees and taking over the space formerly occupied by Café Habana. The lower level is now occupied by Mash at Blue Tractor – a beer, whiskey and bourbon bar that specializes in the craft cocktail tradition.

Finley’s American Grill, with its location at 7433 West Saginaw Hwy, has been a local hometown favorite for almost 40 years!! “Our lease was up and an opportunity was available for us to move our location down the road next to the Ramada Inn”, states Fred Shoffstall, District Manager. “The new Ramada Inn location allowed us to offer many more dining options requested from our guests”, states Fred, “like additional seating, expanded parking and a stand-alone sit down bar area.”
