This festival has been in the works for quite some time and I am glad that they were able to finally hold it. We have been to lots of festivals and some are run better than others. This festival seemed to be very well run and organized. They had several vendor booths set up around the festival grounds and a large tent set up in the midddle with tables and chairs set up to help people get out of the shade. This was a great thing because the first day of the festival was very sunny and hot. There were 3 stages set up. The main stage and the local band stage were right next to each other and alternated the music all weekend. The other stage was set up in the ampitheatre at the other end of the festival grounds. This set up ensured that there was all rock all weeekend. The festival had some fantastic bands all weekend and the weekend closed out with Helmet and The Toadies.
The beer selection was quite good. They had a little bit of something for everyone. They had everything from a Farmhouse Ale, a Saison, a Porter, and a couple IPA's. It was really nice to see such a collection of people from our hometown enjoying what we love.
All in all, this was a fantastic festival. You really can't go wrong when you mix Michigan Craft Beer and Rock N Roll. I really think they have a good thing going here and I have a feeling that this festival is going to grow by leaps and bounds over the next several years. I am personally very excited to watch it grow!
