7 Monks Taproom: Traverse City's Destination Beer Bar

Currently, Traverse City is home to many great breweries worth visiting but to pass up on a great beer bar like 7 Monks Taproom would be a mistake. A whopping 46 taps are featured, with several new tapped daily. Check their website / Facebook regularly to get the latest offerings.
7 Monks Taproom: Traverse City's Destination Beer BarTrue to the name, 7 Monks features a great selection of authentic Trappist monk brewed beers which serve as the focal point alongside a staggering amount of Michigan brews (over 50%!) Cider, mead, and wine is also available; one of the highlights for me was the delicious JaZzberi mead (Jasmine tea, raspberries, and cranberries,) from Acoustic Draft Mead, a northern based meadery.

Food options include burgers, pizza, wings, and even seasoned fried almonds. The taproom opens at 3 PM weekdays and noon on Friday through Sunday. If planning a beer expedition, keep in mind most breweries and pubs close at midnight, so last call will come soon after 11:30 PM.

American Craft Beer Week is May 14th-20th and 7 Monks will be celebrating in style with 3-4 limited release craft beers released daily, with each day featuring drafts from a specific brewery (including Founders, Dark Horse Short's, and Odd Sides.) If in the area, I highly recommend that you include 7 Monks as one of your destinations.
