The Hot Rod Power Tour’s second visit to Muskegon in two years drew huge crowds, and after a somewhat cooler weekend with some rain, the stop was blessed with very accommodating weather. This was the second stop of the journey as thousands of the hot rods made these streets their home and a multitude of spectators were on hand to observe, many thirsty for a drink.
The craft beer tent featured exclusively Michigan beers from Founders, Bells, & Saugatuck with the one exception of Coors Light. Several bands performed including Delilah DeWylde & The Lost Boys. The Delilah DeWyldeBerry Wheat from their hometown Saugatuck Brewing Co. was one of the featured drafts, and I found it to be an excellent choice for a summer beer. SBC also brews Hennessy’s own name brand stout that continues to be a hit. Several new menu items were available in the tent including the chimichanga.
The 6th annual Muskegon pub crawl also made its way through downtown Muskegon and Hennessy's was amongst it almost dozen stops. Hundreds of bicyclists made the trip which started in North Muskegon around noon on Saturday. The Pub Pedal, Power Tour, and Craft beer tent were all great successes that I am sure we will not be seeing the last of here in Muskegon.
