Michigan Beer Cellar currently has a fourteen beers on tap, including the new IPA and another premium offering; a Mocha Java Stout. What many people may not know is what else this place has to offer – a small winery, artisan distillery, and food menu highlighting paninis, wraps, and sandwiches.Dan Humphrey indicated to me that the Cellar's beers have just been picked up by IHS distributing and kegs will soon be rolling out all over the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek area, to be followed by 6-packs, including the popular Black Magic RyPa and Uncle Krunkle's Dunkelweizen, in early to mid-June. However, the limited edition 4-pack of the 1 ½ year aged “Not Old Enough” Old ale is only available at the brewery and supplies are very limited. I am told a small number of kegs are being saved for special events.
The Beer Cellar will be making the rounds at all of the Summer beer festivals once again this year, and will also be at the World Expo of beer May 18th and 19th in Frankemuth, MI. Also coming soon to Sparta will be the 4th annual Pink Dress Run, a cancer benefit where participants in pink attire visit local bars and restaurants. The brewery's 2-year anniversary party will be held on Saturday, June 2nd with Delilah DeWylde and the Lost Boys providing the entertainment.
