Right Brain Brewing Company

For those acquainted with Right Brain’s former cozy little pub, prepare yourself as Right Brain has relocated into a new expansive atmosphere with ten times the square footage of the previous location. If traveling for the first time, you may feel like you've take a wrong turn following Cass south from downtown through a mostly residential area to the new address of 225 East 16th Street as the brewery has left the immediate downtown area and instead opted to update an older warehouse space in Traverse City’s “SoFo” district (a reference to being south of Fourteenth Street.)

Right Brian Brewery: A Beer and a Haircut?

A beer and a haircut? How about a beer at Traverse City's premier microbrewery featuring 16 plus unique taps and a cut at an upscale salon complete with head and neck massage with hot towel finish. Right Brain and the adjoining Salon Saloon offer just that, and I couldn't resist the opportunity. Firestarter Chipotle Porter was my beverage of choice, and a clipper cut #3 all over got me in the door even though it was close to closing time for the salon.

How to Make a Fruity Ice Cream While using Short's Soft Parade

I wanted to try something more fruity than chocolaty for this batch of ice cream. The delectable Soft Parade fruit-infused rye ale from Short's Brewing in Bellaire seemed like a good starting point. I also added some peach syrup from Torani (the stuff they use at coffee shops) to add flavor and chopped up some gummy peach rings to put in the ice cream. The result was pretty good. Not an A+ but a solid effort. I would perhaps add more syrup the next time.
