Tributesville was first conceived in 2011 by Todd Stoney, founder and drummer of Lookin’ Back, which has played for more than 250,000 Bob Seger fans. His goal was to create a union among the Detroit area’s best tribute bands to cross promote shows and improve the live music scene.
Mark Sellers, founder of HopCat, created the Huma Room at HopCat Detroit to be a high-quality, intimate venue to support live music in Detroit. The room features its own bar with a full selection of cocktails along with 30 Michigan-made craft beers on tap.
A free “warm-up” show Monday June 6, features Detroit’s own Slight Return, which has performed with George Clinton and Robin Trower, among others, with special guest comedian Tim Rowlands opening at 7 p.m..
