Bardic Wells Mead Tasting at 327 Pizza and Pub in Downtown Coopersville

Steve Haysted of West Michigan's Bardic Wells Meadery recently featured a  variety of his meads at the 327 Pizza and Pub in Downtown Coopersville. I took advantage of the opportunity to chat with Steve and sample his meads as well as check out the pub's food and beer selection as well.
Bardic Wells Mead Tasting at 327 Pizza and Pub in Downtown Coopersville Bardic Wells has been particularly successful with the recent line of carbonated hopped meads "Clurichaun," and in addition to the traditional 100% honey based varieties, samples were available of both carbonated and still meads blended with apples (called "Cyser,") berries, and even coffee. Steve indicated that the carbonated coffee mead Bru Clu has the most appeal for beer drinkers, being similar in flavor to a dark Stout.

Although 327 only offers a few taps, they do currently feature both Founders ALL DAY IPA as well as Mt. Pleasant Train Wreck Ale, so Michigan beers are well represented. Pizza is offered in Hand Tossed, Thick, or Thin crusts or even a Chicago Style Deep Dish; I must plan a return visit to try sometime. Subs, Stromboli, and a selection of dinner options are available on the menu as well.

Bardic Wells is soon to open a tasting room in Downtown Montague. In the meantime, a list of retail outlets for Bardic Wells mead can be found on their website. I highly recommend giving these meads a try. How can you resist when with a slogan like "Party like a bard!" ?
