2015 is shaping up to be another great year for Odd Side Ales brewery located in the Story & Clark Piano Factory in downtown Grand Haven. Not only has the brewery been celebrating it’s 5th-year anniversary this year, but also has recently relocated the production facility, doubling the size, and expanded and remodeled the pub location as well. When the pub first opened in March of 2010, all of the production was done on-site. Increased demand first lead to off-site production in 2012 which included their own bottling line. This represents the 3rd location for production in Odd Side Ales’ 5+ years with the original pub brewery still in use for brewing small batch releases.
The current production location features a 15-barrel system with an enhanced bottling line and plenty of room for future expansion. Odd Side Ales barrel-aging program features a space for their traditional bourbon barrel age releases which include favorites like their Bourbon Barrel Citra Pale Ale and Bourbon Barrel Mayan Mocha Stout, as well as a separate area designated for a new line of sour beers. For quality control, a 6-pack of every release is kept in stock for many months to reference for future batches. The production facility also features a tasting room which includes a selection of Odd Side Ales beers both in bottle and on draft.

The production facility held an open house the first week of June while the pub was closed for remodeling. One week later, the updated pub was unveiled which has now expanded with a wraparound bar which now has been incorporated into a vacated tenant space which had previously neighbored the pub, also creating much more room for tables and etc. surrounding that end of the bar. The production facility also now plans to offer tours one Saturday a month so stay tuned for an announcement of the next opportunity to pay a visit. Also keep a lookout for some of Odd Side Ales latest releases from their bottling line in June which have included their IPA series including Paranoia, Instigator, and El Dankerino, as well as the new Nectar of the Brewer Apricot Wheat Ale.
