The R.O. Group principal and owner Jim Kunz worked with Frankfort-based Land Consulting Services, owned and operated by Jay White, to purchase six acres of land in Frankfort’s industrial park.
“The time is right to brew more beer,” says Jim Kunz, a silent partner behind Stormcloud Brewing Company. Kunz bought the vacant building, previously occupied by the Caddy Shack golf shop, where Stormcloud’s brewery and pub is now located in downtown Frankfort.
Kunz has also secured the professional services of Kalamazoo-based Byce & Associates, Inc. for architectural and engineering design. Byce & Associates, Inc. has extensive experience in construction and renovation of breweries both large and small throughout Michigan.
Stormcloud co-owners Rick Schmitt and Brian Confer have contracted Wisconsin-based manufacturing company W.M. Sprinkman to construct a 20 barrel brewhouse at the site. In addition, Stormcloud is once again working with Frankfort’s State Savings Bank to finance the brewery’s expansion.
