Hop Bine Planting Marks The Start of Construction at HopCat - East Lansing

Today in East Lansing, Hop Bine Planting marks the start of construction for HopCat. If you are unfamiliar with HopCat in Grand Rapids, it is a great craft beer bar with 48 taps that are mostly Michigan beers. It has consistently been rated one of the best beer bars in the country by Beer Advocate magazine, RateBeer.com and CraftBeer.com.
I was happy to hear the HopCat East Lansing won't be exaclty the same as the oringal. The HopCat East Lansing will have around 100 taps, a huge step up from the 48 at the orginal HopCat . The added number of taps is likely because they will not brewing at the new location as they have in Grand Rapids. In addition, the decor will be much different at the East Lansing location, focusing on old beer memorabilia. I feel that HopCat coming to East Lansing will be a game changer in that with a 100 taps, it will have more then any bar in Michigan. With all those taps, I sure hope there will be enough seating to accommodate everyone!

The project is scheduled to be completed early August, and I can't wait to be there sipping a tasty Michigan beer.
