This year for New Year’s Eve, Unruly Brewing Company threw an amazing 80’s-themed party complete with a hair metal tribute band, barrel aged beers and drink specials, and a two-story barrel drop at midnight to celebrate the new year. DJ Old School Spencer set the tone for the inaugural event spinning records of 80’s pop and rock classics prior to the opening set of 80’s metal hits from tribute band GlamHammer based out of Lansing. Unruly also held some contests in between sets including best costume and a breakdancing challenge with several local businesses providing prizes for the winning contestants.
Unruly Brewing Co. also brought back on tap a couple of their barrel-aged beer releases especially for the event. Featured on tap were both the Crucible barrel-aged Foundry Slag stout and one of my personal favorites, the 9th Hour barrel-aged Smoked Porter. Unruly’s house pizzeria, Rebel Pies, was also on hand and featured some BOGO pizza specials prior to the event. Rebel Pies is also currently featuring a selection of specialty grinders on their menu as well, including the Grind-One-On Thai chicken sandwich and a Bourbon Peppercorn Turkey Club.

2015 mug club memberships for Unruly Brewing Co. are currently available for $55 at the brewery as well as via their website: www.unrulybrewing.com. The memberships are good for the full calendar year and feature $1.00 off pours in the mug club member’s exclusive 20 oz. goblet. Mug club members are also entitled to merchandise discounts, special event invites, and a 2015 special mint mug club coin. The coin can be flipped on mug club Tuesdays to give the bearer an additional $1.00 off the already discounted mug club night pours. Rebel Pies also offers their own Eat Pie or Die club which can be purchased separately from the Unruly mug club for additional discounts on pizza.

Unruly Brewing Co. is currently open at noon 7 days a week until 10 PM weekdays, midnight on weekends, and closes at 7 PM on Sundays.
