When the gauntlet gets thrown during the Super Bowl Commercials, what do you do? Griffin Claw Brewing Company answered the challenge in true Detroit style, by brewing.
If you missed the commercial it starts by saying that Budweiser “is not brewed to be fussed over" and ending with the tagline, “Let them sip their pumpkin peach ale. We'll be brewing us some golden suds.”

Griffin Claw Brewing, located in Birmingham, will soon release a small batch of Beechwood Aged Pumpkin Peach Ale, direct nod to the Budweiser Super Bowl commercial that made fun of microbrewed beers.

Brewmaster Dan Rogers said that it took about three weeks for the seven barrel batch to be ready for bottling. They already had a pumpkin beer recipe that just needed a bit of altering. They added in peaches, placed the beer in beechwood barrels and let it set. It was actually pretty easy to make and fortunately if people like it, the recipe can be created over and over again with excellent results.

This is currently being bottled with special labels in 22ounce, waxdipped bottles, the only “fussing” that Griffin Claw Brewing Company is doing.

I can't wait to try this particular beer and my response to Budweiser is, “Let them drink their 'golden suds' we will enjoy our Beechwood Aged Pumpkin Peach ale with style.”

Griffin Claw Brewing Company’s Beechwood Aged Pumpkin Peach Ale will be available inside the Taproom next Tuesday, March 24, 2015 and can be purchased to take home in 22 ounce bottles. Griffin Claw Brewing Company’s Taproom is open Tuesday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays from noon to 12 a.m., Saturdays from noon to 12 a.m., Sundays noon to 10 p.m. and closed on Mondays.
