Recap of an EPIC 2013 Kalamazoo Beer Week

Kalamazoo Beer Week (Jan 12-19) started off with a bang. That is after a slight misfire. My original plans had been to take the Gallagher's party bus and do the kick off pub crawl in its entirety. The only issue was when I arrived at Gallagher's at about 5:30pm the bus was dead in the water, not the best place to be when you have so many people ready to go and explore the festivities of the start of beer week. I hung around till closer to 6 when the driver mentioned that they would need to get a wrecker out to jump start the bus. Minor setback but we soldier on. This is Kalamazoo Beer Week, anything can happen. They did finally get the bus working around 7pm but it took 4 wreckers to get it started. This is one I wish I had had the time to stick around and see.

Kalamazoo Beer Week

In its third year, Kalamazoo’s craft-beer centered week of events, called Kalamazoo Beer Week (or KBW for “short”), packs a mighty punch.

Written by Paul Starr

4th Annual Detroit Beer Week

The fourth annual Detroit Beer Week is currently underway. This event is aimed at celebrating the great city of Detroit in a positive way by bringing people together through beer and good food. It's also a great chance for people to experience some of the unique bars and restaurants throughout the city and to grow awareness & appreciation for these local businesses. This year will be similar to the rest in that it will be chock full of fun events, and the World Series coming to The D is certainly an added bonus!

Detroit Beer Week

In the Motor City, the fall season has become synonymous with Detroit Beer Week. In its fourth year, this multi-day beer event has grown beyond its original concept, spanning 11 days and featuring a full spectrum of craft beer-centric happenings throughout the City of Detroit and the immediate surrounding suburbs.

Lansing Beer Week is offering a special $10 off each Beer Tasting Boat Cruise Ticket for the event this evening on the Michigan Princess in Lansing.

Both will be held in East Lansing, one at Crunchy's and the other just down the alleyway at Beggar's Banquet. These bars, while vastly different in almost every way, have become two of the biggest players in the craft beer scene in the area.
